Dr. Stuart Szigeti
Research Fellow
Stuart Szigeti is a theoretical physicist, currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Engineered Quantum Systems (EQuS) at the University of Queensland. He has extensive experience in the fields of quantum optics and quantum-atom optics, with a particular focus on Bose-Einstein condensation, quantum measurement and control, and atom interferometry. Stuart also has a keen interest in the philosophy and practice of education in physics.
Stuart completed his Ph.D. in February 2013 at The Australian National University (ANU). During his time at the ANU, Stuart worked closely with the experimental Quantum Sensors and Atom Laser Group in the Department of Quantum Science, in the capacity of theory and computational physics support.
Prior to his Ph.D., Stuart received a Bachelor of Philosophy (Science) (Honours) from the ANU in 2008, for which he was awarded a University Medal in Theoretical Physics. In 2011 he completed the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and in 2010 received the ANU Award for Excellence in Tutoring or Demonstrating.
